The existing home wasn't working very well for this family of 4.
With parents working at home from time to time, and two growing children sharing one bedroom and the parents bedroom downstairs - they needed more space and connection to each other and the yard space.
After
By moving the existing kitchen units back - using the hallway space, we were able to create a new family space on this tight site. The existing living space was split - creating a separate lounge that is able to be closed off with double sliding doors.
The creation of 3 new bedrooms in a new rear extension. Along with an ensuite for the parents and a new bathroom for the kids they now have plenty of space on one living level. The original downstairs bedroom is the perfect area for when guests come to visit.
Because of the contours of the site - they now have plenty of 'toy' storage under the floor of the rear addition. This is a home that will now allow the family to stay in the location they love with their growing family.
